Arrival at the Das Leonhard nature park hotel

The nature park hotel is located in the south west of Carinthia, right on the shore of Lake Weissensee. The view from the hotel is magnificent yet calming. In summer, there is a diverse and green landscape right in front of your window. In winter, the white snow will take you down the memory lane to your childhood. 

Lake Weissensee is located in the Gailtal Alps, in the area between the towns of Spittal, Villach and Lienz. You can reach our hotel by car or train. For those flying in, we recommend the two nearby airports in Klagenfurt and Salzburg.

• Arrival from Vienna (east)
  The drive from Vienna takes between 4.5 and 5 hours in which you travel 427 km. On the A2 motorway head for Graz and then follow the signs for Villach and Spittal an der Drau. Drive along the main road through the Drau valley (B100/E66) to Greifenburg-Weissensee
  
  
• Arrival from Salzburg (north)
  The drive form Salzburg lasts about 2 hours in which you travel 175 km. On the A10 motorway head south and take the exit Spittal/Millstätter See. Continue driving on B100/E66 to Greifenburg–Weissensee
  
  
• Arrival from Innsbruck (west)
  The distance between Innsbruck and Weissensee amounts to 234 km for which you will need approximately 4 hours. Driving on the A12 motorway you will pass through the towns of Wörgl, St.Johann and Kitzbühel. Continue on the Felbertauernstraße road (toll road), driving pass Lienz to Greifenburg–Weissensee.
  
  

• Arrival from Udine (south)
  There are 158 km between Udine and Weissensee, which means the drive will take approximately 2 hours. Pass the towns of Tarvisio and Villach and head for the main road through the Gailtal valley (B111) and Hermagor. 
   
  

If you are travelling by train, take a look at the ÖBB or DB schedule information. The closest airports are in Klagenfurt and Salzburg where you can also rent a car. Alternatively you can use our local airport shuttle service Kochreisen.
